Neon Blue Rosecut Kyanite Oxidized Sterling Silver Hinge Pendant Necklace

This pendant was hand fabricated from sterling silver sheet metal and wire. It features a rosecut, neon blue kyanite stone, bezel set in fine silver. I kept the setting plain and added a hinge bail as the fun accent. This bail is commonly called a pin hinge bail. The ends of the wire pin are melted to form a ball shape, and keep the pin in the hinge. I was not able to do a traditional pin with my air/acetylene torch, so my pin ends are little coils. It's still a fabulous, working hinge. The metal was oxidized. Hung from a delicate, oxidized rounded box chain.

The pendant (including bail) is 1.25" in length and .38" in width. The rounded box chain is 1.25 mm in width and 18" in length.
